It’s been four years since we saw updates on JBL portable speakers, so I was curious to look and hear what the new company did Flip 7 ($ 150) and Load 6 ($ 200) speakers. While JBL has not radically redesigned the speakers on the outside-they look quite similar to their ancestors-they have a better sound, better life expectancy and no loss audio over a USB-C connection. They are now available for prefabrications and ship on April 4 in multiple color options.

Both speakers are waterproof IP68 and dustproof and are equipped with newly developed woofers that help improve basic basic performance along with the reference necessary for what almost every new product seems to include these days. In the case of rolling 7 and load 6, it is something called “He Sound Boost” that JBL says it keeps the speakers not distort while their drivers are pushed to their “maximum ability”. In other words, JBL has improved the digital processing of speakers with up -to -date algorithms.
The load 7 now has a detachable handle.
Load 6 is slightly larger than load 5, but weighs the same as its predecessor at 2.11 pounds. One of the most obvious outer changes is at the new model’s loading port (that port is why the speaker line is called “load”). Instead of a USB-A port hidden under a gasket, there is a single exposed USB-C port that is both loaded and loaded. This allows you to use speakers as a bank with electricity and load equipment like your smartphone while transmitting music to the speaker.
Moreover, JBL has added a removable handle to load 6. When attached, it gives the speaker a mini bum view that is a little more similar to the extreme JBL line. Meanwhile, flip 6 has a new push block accessory that allows you to change between a carabiner and a loop (both are included). Both speakers can be placed on the horizontal or stand up vertically.

The largest load has always appeared significantly better than the smallest flip, producing more bass and a larger overall sound. But the flip has gained a loyal base of fans thanks to its compact, broken pattern and good sound for its size. All that he said, the price for both of these speakers has risen by $ 20, and the competition is fierce in the Bluetooth speakers market.
After listening to both models for a few days, they really produce more bass with better general clarity. They also play loudly without distorting, though occasionally I encounter a little distortion in the maximum volume, depending on the musical trail. Unnecessary to say, Charge 6 offers a wider scene with larger bass and more volume than Flip 7. Still, the rolling sound is significantly added, and remains one of the speakers with better voice for its size, improving its anti -flexible attitude of sounds similar to the price of bosses, which received some of the bosses.
The speakers can stand up vertically.
Using the auracast function of the speakers, you can connect numerous speakers activated with Auracast JBL to increase the sound or create a pair of stereo (it replaces JBL party growth mode and does not appear compatible with JBLs and Connect Plus Plots).
I always appreciate the inclusion of a USB-C audio feature, whether it is on a Bluetooth speaker or headphones, but I could not get it to work on AS Flip 7 or Charge 6 even after a firmware update in Charge 6 claimed that the USB-C audio support was part of the update. (The speakers have not been released yet, so I suspect I will see another firmware update before April 4.)
Testing the USB-C audio feature with other Bluetooth speakers, I have found that the sound improves only a little, but it is usually a more dynamic and purest wire-wire tad through USB-C. These are relatively compact mono speakers, so you just won’t get sound profits from a wire connection you can get from the top -level speakers that offer significantly richer, more detailed sounds. But I will reserve the final judgment until after receiving the function by working.
Flip 7 looks very similar to rolling 6, but there is a newly developed woofer.
We will see where the road price is shaken in these speakers, but JBL is likely to offer some discounts later during the year. By issuing charges 6, JBL is selling Fee 5 for $ 120. Flip 6 remains at $ 130, or $ 20 cheaper than rolling 7. I also have to note that JBL told me there is no plan for a 6 Wi-Fi connection. In the coming days, after spending more time comparing rolling 7 and uploading 6 with competitive models (and receiving USB-C audio to work), I will post full assessments of the speakers. Despite my problems with the USB-C audio, both speakers are likely to make our list of The best Bluetooth speakers of 2025. I would spend extra money for load 6, but flip 7 is easier to transport and fit beautifully into a cup holder or water holder on your bike.
